A Pastoral Note About the Adenovirus
You may have heard recent mention of the adenovirus on the news or social media . While the name can sound concerning, it is important to know that this is not something new. Adenoviruses are very common viruses that circulate regularly, much like what we experience during cold and flu season.
These viruses can cause mild illnesses such as a cold, sore throat, cough, fever, pink eye, or sometimes an upset stomach. For most people, the symptoms are mild and pass within a few days.
The best remedies are simple and familiar:
• Get plenty of rest
• Drink fluids and stay hydrated
• Use appropriate over-the-counter remedies if needed
Out of care for one another, we ask that if you are not feeling well, please stay home and take the time to recover.
You are always welcome to join us by watching Mass through our parish live stream until you are feeling better.

At the same time, we encourage everyone to use good judgment. Those who are truly sick or more vulnerable to illness should certainly take the time they need to rest. However, we should also be mindful not to let concern become an unnecessary reason to stay away from Mass when we are otherwise well.
A simple reminder that good handwashing is one of the best ways to prevent the spread of illness. A few extra moments at the sink can make a big difference for everyone.
Let us continue to care for one another with kindness and common sense, keeping both our health and our commitment to worship together in mind. Thank you for helping keep our parish family healthy.

Important Announcement!
We have been notified by the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office that there is an organization working in our area stealing checks from church mailboxes.
MOST IMPORTANT THIS ONLY AFFECTS PARISHIONERS WHO SEND THEIR OFFERINGS THROUGH THE US POSTAL SYSTEM.
The time period seems to be Sept. 2025 to present.
If you are a parishioner who could be affected by this:
1. Contact your bank and ask them if the checks they send through autopay have been cashed by the church.
2. If you use personal checks, do you have any outstanding? If not ask your bank for copies of the back of the checks, the endorsement should be say
“St Frances Cabrini Church for deposit only.”
3. The third alternative is to email jane.swan@cabriniparrish.org with your name, the dates of the checks and the check numbers.
